My research is within the area of the future of journalism and news disruption. I’m interested in how the production of journalism changes but also how the use of journalism changes.
Social media and its effect on journalism, politics and the public sphere is a core area of my research (and my PhD) and my current work is looking at trolls and the manipulation of public political talk on Facebook in particular.
I’m also interested in the links between games and journalism, immersive and interactive journalism, and how we step outside traditional forms and ideas to produce more empathetic, more effective journalism.
