My research is within the area of the future of journalism and news disruption. I’m interested in how the production of journalism changes but also how the use of journalism changes.
Social media and its effect on journalism, politics and the public sphere is a core area of my research (and formed my PhD), as is the effect of social media on our critical and political literacy. Recent work has focused around looking at the manipulation of public political talk on Facebook in particular.
